Hi all got a 35inch tyre with 3 tiny pin hole punctures.. Got told by tyre shops the cant repair sidewalls.
Anyone know what the go is with chucking a tube in, can you still let them down to 10 psi with no dramas? And how are they to be repaired if I get another puncture? Any help would be great.
Cheers JnT30

Once the integrity of a tyre is in doubt, at best it becomes a spare at low speeds or an emergency. I would put a tube in and use it, but that's just me. Would I recommend that to others, no!

As stated above only as a spare for me, side wall repairs are only for emergencies

Send Mudrunner a PM mate, he did or does run tubes in his Simex tyres. I do recall him saying at the last meet up though that when you air down below 18psi you will rip valves out every time.

How old are the tyres if all have holes?
If you deflate an old tyre from road pressures the side walls will crack.
Tyre will then go flat or explode

Put a patch on all holes then tube.
Tyre can still explode with a tube in it.

At 10 psi the valves will pull through the holes in rims when the tyre spins on the rim.

This ones buyer beware old tyres are dangerous so be warned

The last tyre I plugged in the sidewall had a blowout so I wouldn't recomend patching the tyre, I won't be doing it again thats for sure

Sometimes you will have to plug tyres or you will be walking, it's supposed to be a temp repair.
