G'day Forum Members,

I am Rusty and in March of this year I purchased my second Nissan Patrol, which is a Y61 2007 GU ST-S with the TD4.2Ti motor. My previous Patrol was a 1999 Y61 GU St TD28Ti which I owned for 4 years.

My new vehicle has an Ironman 2 inch lift kit, 3 inch exhaust, Nissan alloy bullbar and Nissan tow hitch. Mounted on the bar are a pair of IPF driving lights.

I love the 4.2 litre as I tow a Jayco Eagle Campervan or my 4.3 metre Bluefin Runabout with it and the extra power offered by the 4.2 over the 3.0 litres model is well worth any extra fuel costs.

I live in Victoria at Puckapunyal and would be happy to meet up with fellow forum members within the local area.

Cheers

Rusty.

Welcome Rusty,

Congrats on picking up a great vehicle, as you have certainly picked up one the one best Nissan ever made ......

I only want to make one correction ( just for the record and not to start an argument - and I HAVE OWNED BOTH ) .... there isn't really any extra Power in a 4.2 over the 3 Litre in their standard forms, and although if I was towing heavy loads all the time I would probably pick a modified 4.2, I wouldn't necessarily call it a superior tow vehicle ....
