Hi all!

I am looking at getting a front locker installed in my 06 GU 4.2TD ute. The thing is I don't have any room in my engine bay to put the compressor. The blokes over at ARB have said they will be able to put it behind the passenger side seat.

So my question is does anyone have this set up in their utes? If so feel free to post up some pictures so I can see what it looks like:D

Regards Lach.

Ever thought of an auto locker or an e-locker, or did you want the compressor for your tyres as well?

Hopefully one of the ute owners will be able to assist you mate but i reckon it might get a tad noisy.

My mrs has the compressor under her passenger seat in her GQ. Works well there. You could mount it under the tray?

It's a ute, why don't you just fit it up under the tray?? Bolt it to the back wall of the cab if you need to but there is plenty of room under the tray.

The Hi output compressors are fully sealed and ARB has one on display on 100% duty cycle at the bottom of a Fish Tank fully submerged! Did not miss a beat. They just had a breather hose above the water line.

I think ill be mounting it under the tray in an angled toolbox in replace of the front mud guard.

Most likely one like this http://www.tongmetal.com.au/p/1585/tbub

Thank you all for your help.

The Compressor in the water isnt just tap water to let you know. The water is PH neutral etc.

I would go with the E-locker especially for the fact that you dont want the Air-locker leaking inside your car, then it will give you freedom of whichever compressor you want to use.

Punk you put the control solenoid outside the cab, you don't want the discharge air from the locker in the cab for sure.
They are noisy little buggers them compressors and they do get warm, I don't like sharing a space with them. But I do have a pod to put mine in.
I had an ARB comp that had water in the motor part that was supposed to be waterproof and they wouldn't honour the warrantee (third claim as the bolt on the crank broke twice), so up their whatsee and bought a serious Boss and have never looked back.
Running a locker alone they are only on for a moment so could live with it under a seat I suppose.
I have an e-locker and don't have to think about such things.
