AJ here from the RS of A, South Africa. Land of the Springboks, SA Breweries and Mrs. Balls chutney. :bananarock:

Anyhow, now that you all know where I'm from, I'll start off with a short description of my "itch". hopefully one of you can advise? :trink13:

I'm not a Patrol owner. Cannot afford one (yet).
I do however own a 2000 model D22 Hardbody (=Navara/NP300) that use to be in QD32 form.
4x4, full OME suspension, Safari snorkel, ARB Air-Lockers front and rear, bull- and winchbar up front, dual-spare carrier in the rear, Calmini upgrade, BF Goodrich 31" Muds, Dual Batteries, etc., etc.

I did swap my QD32 with an imported QD32ETi motor about a year ago. We were forced to use the mechanical pump as the electronic pump arrived without the ECU and wiring.
Dyno reported 105kW and 315N.m. which is a great improvement from before.

So now I'm on the process of tracking down an OEM or aftermarket ECU/EFi controller to see if I cannot use the electronic VE pump so I can tap into more of the hidden power and also reduce fuel consumption.

I know that the QD32Eti was in the Nissan Elgrand and Teranno RD50, but information is practically non-existent (from what I can see).

Maybe one of you guys have come across or know someone who has gotten the QD32ETi going with sourced ECU/EFi?

Many thanks in advance and thank you for allowing me to join and drool over your truck!

Hey boet! Welcome to the forum from a fellow SA member (KZN South Coast). This is where you will find really good technical help and advice. I find SA to be a lonely place for Patrol owners and have fond a good "home" in this forum. Always on the look-out for local spares and body parts, so if you come across anything our side........

Now thats an intro...!!

G'day and welcome mate.

In regards to your search for an ECU, speek to your nearest Nissan Dealer or authorised mechanic and ask them for part numbers, info on which other vehicles these were used in (you might be able to find one at an auto wreckers) However, talk to some of the larger parts distributors in the US. Here are a few.

Thanks Conrad. Will do. And if you happen on any D22 4x4 QD32 (=Hardbody 3.2L Diesel) 4x4 parts & spares, please give me a shout?
So the nissanpatrol.co.za forum too quiet or also stumped with a problem?
This QD32ETi motor I got has me stumped. It's either there is no Workshop/Service Maual or Nissan slapped this moto together in a shack somewhere with no documentation. :/

Anyhow, hopefully I get some insight from a One of the okes that are so brilliant in simply being able to disassemble, assemble, upgrade, improve and diagnose on the fly.

BTW, sorry about he the Sharks! :( I'm a born Natalian too. Vryheid!

Howzit Rob. That's just the thing. The QD32ETi motor was never released in SA. Only the N/A QD32.
The QD32ETi was put into the ELGRAND E50 and the Terrano RD50. All of which was only sold in the Japan and the UK I believe. A couple of grey imports in Aus and NZ.
My motor was also an import. So. The fun never really stops. :D
I suppose if I couldtype Japanese I could have been closer, but alas...
