I have an RB30E in a Holden one tonner (R31 Skyline version). Lovely motor but needs lots of revs to pull a loaded vehicle with a car trailer -one tonne diff. is actually higher ratio than a Skyline.
I notice the GQ RB30S develops maximum torque (224Nm) at 3000 rpm as opposed to my motor specified as 252Nm at 3600 rpm.
My cam is well worn and need replacing. I am wondering if a GQ cam might give me some more low down torque. Does anyone have a factory manual with cam duration and lift figures?
I have Skyline and VL Commodore manuals so know cam specs for that version of the motor.
Also, comments on end result of fitting EFI to GQ motor would be appreciated. I might end up with, effectively, such a motor.
Thanks,
Jeff
