Front hub reassembly

I have just repacked the front left wheel hub bearings and when trying to refit the hub the front bearing wont go back to where it was, it seems too small to fit over the stub properly. Is this a brute force thing or is there a trick to putting everything back together?

as they ask, a few details re self and wagon is good. It's a friendly site, reckon you'll enjoy it.
In the meantime, you can safely bet that if the offside one came off and went back OK then the nearside one will as well.
If not, you've got it in the wrong order or similar. Go to the good one, dismantle it and MAKE SURE you lay it out in sequence. Both sides are the same so reassembly of the problem side is simply copying.
