Thanks .. Next mods are Winch , heavy duty valve body for auto trans and a converter lock up switch, boost and EGT gauges , scrub bars , rock sliders , steel rear bumper to fit 2 spares or jerry cans air lockers on both diffs .. all the expensive stuff.. :(
I would love a 6.5 litre turbo diesel V8 under the bonnet......... :)

Great rig mate. You will find a front locker will do great, the rear lsd is bullet proof. and I would go the td42t over the chev. Easier swap over for starters also use less fuel and from what I have read the chev's are not that great anyhow.

nice looking Rig there Pinto,
I agree with Mudski to a point - the chev's have no more power and fuel economy than the TD4.2Turbo Intercooled - but they do have a massive amount of torque
so saying, I will stick to my TD42T
cheers

Nice Rig and one hell of a home on wheels, how does the troll go pulling that around?

Ok on the flat but hates hills.. We tow at 90 kph in 3rd with the auto . Surprising how the little ZD30 tows so well .
Some times we forget there is a van behind until you look in the mirrors. Patrol sits rock steady on the road even with strong crosswinds.
We have towed the van on some pretty bad tracks as well to set up camp and go exploring in the Datto..
We see plenty ZD30 powered patrols towing caravans around OZ.. They are an excellent tow car as well as the BEST 4x4 ..
