Friday morning I'm re-balancing my wheels after the Q has developed the shakes from the last trip. It appears a bunch of the wheel weights have come off..
So I'm going to try out the Dyna Beads to see if they solve my problem and that of losing weights while using the tyres for what they were meant for.
It should solve most 4WD balancing issues. I'll let you know how I get on........

I'm curious to know what the perceived downside is Daz.

Yeah i cant remember to be honest, maybe just a couple of screwed up noses. Logically seems to have merit for me though. Keen to hear how you go.

My local Jax in Essendon suggested them. About $25 to do each wheel which, while more than a regular balance didnt seem too bad. Ive seen folks paying $80 to buy them on ebay.
Apparently some local guys who do a fair bit of 4WDing have been using them and reckon they're good.......so the shop says......but like I said at $125......MEH.
If it all goes to shizen I'll do it the old fashioned way.

Give Brett a call at 4wd Obsession mate, I know he can get it for sure.... Ask his opinion and his best price. Tell him your from here and a mate of mine.

They worked well on my cruiser motorbike. Steer clear of metal and use ceramic ones. The price varies, but it's cheaper to import than buying local.

I was going to give Brett a call at some point soon to check out my gearbox.
A bit of stiffness going into 1st when warm/hot and some crunching when looking for reverse under the same circumstances.
I've gone for the local guys on the balancing because I'm so short of time I'll never get out to Melton before this next trip.

Ok, so beads have gone in and it seems there has been an improvement in the steering wobble. Overall much smoother.
It is difficult to explain though, there is still a slight wobble there but it is generally much less pronounced.
I would be curious for someone to take it for a spin while we are away next week and get their thoughts on what the remaining wobble might be.

Awesome stuff. And cost?
The wobble will be difficult to diagnose in the bush as you will be aired down on dirt roads. I will be surprised if you still have the wobble in thos e conditions? If you do then yell out mate and ill take it for a spin.
Would be interesting to take a TB42 for a spin to see how the other half lives anyway ;)

Usually one bag of pips per tyre is general consensus, unless your missing lugs etc

No idea how much they put into each of the tyres.
Cost me a hunge which I don't think was too bad.
