Hi all my name is Denny I have just upgraded to a Nissan Patrol 1999 from a Pajero 1989. I am nearly 60 and love it, this should tow my horse float easy. I love these forums because you can get a lot of knowledge from people who have been their and done that. I live in the Yarra Valley in Victoria, lovely place, and I work full time for Bunnings. Could anyone give me advise on a electric brake control for my Nissan please, I have one in my Pajero but it is old and not worth taking out. Cheers all

Hi, thanks for your welcome, Patrol God. My float does have a brake system on it for electric brakes I still have my Pajero which I used for towing the float, and the electric system is still in the Pajero, but it is probably to old and not worth taking out and putting in the Nissan? any ideas of what I should put in the Nissan that's not too expensive?

Yea easy as then. Can't go past the red arc in car setup. If you have the tools and time it's quite and easy install, and they use a gyro sensors which actively sensors the g force of the car pulling up and applies the appropriate level of brake load to the trailer.
They are a mostly hidden unit and all this seen it an Led and knob to adjust the force.
$150 ish from eBay but ensure you buy from a redarc rep to ensure warranty.

Welcome Denny,

I've got a tekonsha brake controller and can't fault it, its a compact unit that can be put out of sight if that's what you desire but best fitted in arms reach as my unit has a brake override feature to apply as little or as much brake to the trailer independently to the car that can be usefull offroad. Something I'm not sure the redarc has?
