My wife is a tad over 5ft tall and at times struggles to get in the patrol, it's currently stock. She uses choice words grabbing the holy sh1t handle :) I'm due some back pay and plan on having the 2" lift done. I don't plan on telling her about the mod. Should be interesting hearing her climb in after the mod is done :) yes, it's cheap entertainment I know!

Such a perceptive & thoughtful chap. At least you realise that she's gonna notice. You have time to think up a plausible & potentially acceptable excuse. Something along the lines of "Crumbs darling, thanks i hadn't noticed, must mean the gyrodoovalackey has shit itself, & I need to spend some money on the old girl" might work. But then again..........

Never. I repeat never assume they haven't noticed something. It could be weeks after the lift kit or snorkel. Or even the change of makes. Believe me they know. 20 years of marriage tells me they know. :)

Another question I get - "how long have you had that for?" Stock response is "ages"

We should place bets on how long it takes your Missus to notice the lift.

On several items, my answer was that it simply came back with the car, that was for snorkel. I got caught out, as she was sorting out our digital photos a week or so later, and guess what!? She noticed it.
As for the lift, my wife definitely noticed it, as when she was putting the little one in his seat, it felt different.

Other way round here. "Haven't seen that skirt/top/scarf/ etc before Darling" "Oh of course you have I've had it ages. I did press for how long ages was once. She got a tad irritable but admitted to two weeks! Still she's the one who earns the money, so I can't complain, especially when most of her new clothes come from op shops.

I never buy stuff without her knowledge. As long as we can afford it her stock response "Ok, if you need it"

so what you do is .. put the lift in on just the right side... when the missues sits ... the left side would sag even more.. then u walk around to her side look at the sag .. n say .. its not ur weight.. just the suspension that needs fixing up.. and on the weekend put the left 2" lift as well :)

Folks,

You are all going about it the wrong way! Tell her the farken truth! Say something like the following;

"Listen in bitch! i am only spending a lousy $1000 on springs and shocks that is going to allow you to travel in a better riding Patrol. Now darling,i love you more than life itself. I have never criticized you on the amount of money that you spend on yourself, so please, suck it up baby-doll or i will not take you out to those secluded romantic water-holes and hidden secluded beaches that i have just discovered on the latest $700 GPS I pad that i was also going to talk to you about". lol

PS, "darling, doe this mean by your body language that sex is not on the menu again". lol You have to tell her how it is! Now grow some farken big klarchers and go tell her!

Regards,

RLI

sounds like one of the western patrol guys, out wheelin and its real muddy and pulls up at the base of a hill and his wife gives her judgement " you wont get up there without lockers" so he says hang on and pushes the two little locker buttons :), imagine the look lol.

We should place bets on how long it takes your Missus to notice the lift.

from my experiance (8 years with a 5 foot missus) She will notice it immediately... 1st ride after the instal. I would recommend doing a nice dirty drive on the way home or immediatley after instal to cover up the nice new shiney paint on the springs (remember this is eye level for her) and always park next to the kerb as that will make it 50mm lower than she is used to (most kerbs are around 100mm arnt they???)

I went from a 2" lift with 33s to a 4.5" lift and 35s and didn't tell the Misses. She's only 5' 3". She walked up to the GQ and the bonnet was way over her head. She noticed something had changed but couldn't guess it. After a struggle and cursing we managed to pull her into the back seat. Funny stuff. Now she just does the old run and jump.

Just put on a bulbar and winch and rear bar and sliders and roof rack and drawers and a second spare and a second battery and.... And ...... And........

All this will weigh it down so the lift won't be quite as big, and the missus is less likely to notice.

Your welcome

Cheers

I'm afraid I can't test it for you. I'm single for a reason you know!

Thought you were game with all the jobs in one hit. Then remembered army training. Smoke grenade. Add too many , she might only notice a couple. Still a good strategy!!
