Gidday from Perth,
I finally bought a GU Patrol ST 3.0 since I was sick of the fuel guzzling Pajero (a highly underrated car though !) - She is a MY2003 with 170tkm on the clock and still fairly naked apart from a factory bullbar. Now it is the time to find my way trough all the goodies and baddies she has to offer. And first and foremost, send her over the pit for a thorough check from a mechanic and upon confirmation that she is in good nick all the mods can commence. However, she has seen a bit of sand and sun judging by the discoloration of the bonnet and intercooler inlet. Heaps of stone chips, "bubbled" paint and discoloration. If anyone know a good polish to get rid of this eyesore I would be very grateful. Anyhow, here are the plans:
First kicking off with a EGR and boost monitor followed by a snorkel and 3" exhaust for better performance and consumption. Later on the menu: roof rack and LED bar, replacing the bullbar and spotties and adding a winch. I have stripped the mighty Pajero off her dual batterie setup (i.e. redarc insulator and deep cycle batt), muddies and ARB compressor - this will go in right after snorkel installation.
I am looking forward to extending my 4WD knowledge and have a good time with all yous great people from this forum and me new toy.. erm car ! She will be my daily drive but also my weekend tourer.
