Looking at a st 3ltr turbo diesel auto 260000k just had the head redone every thing else looks good and clean for $12000 wondering if its a good deal as I've never had a diesel and heard about the engines being suspect.

What year you looking at.
260k, so probably a 2001/2002 GU maybe.

it's a 2001 model not sure if to stick with a petrol on gas as I've never had a diesel

If you do go early model diesel GU, get the NADS done.
Have a search for NADS and check it out.
Me I'd go diesel, but gas will be much cheaper

I run dual fuel and it is shit for getting into the back country as there is no bloody gas anywhere...

If you can afford it go the diesel but do your homework mate!!!!! for the sake of a couple of hundred bucks on an inspection it could save you a fortune..

And dont believe a word you are told about a car!!!! it's all bullshit.
