can anyone tell me how these engine perform and if have any problem,i find one with 167.000 km all standard setup

Gday mate.
i bought mine 99 2.8 model around 150.000. i did have a brand new one in 1999 nice car, they go fine but if you are thinking about toeing get a 4.2. i have a chip on mine but i wish now i went with the bigger engine.

Well Pf63, that's a hell of an intro. Nice to establish you are in melbourne, and you are I pressume looking at purchasing your first Patrol. It has an L28 2.8petrol motor probably in an MQ/MK.

So if this was your intended introduction then I welcome you Nissans Nut House.

This motor is a well endorsed motor being used in many Nissan Models. I myself prefer Diesel motors. The L28 will do better with a five spd box connected, as a 4spd leaves it wanting that next gear when doin 80-100k/hr.

i have just bought a 1998 gu st model with a 2.8 turbo diesel and i have no complaints, it has 205000km on the clock and runs like a dream. toes dads big box trailer full of trash and greenwaste like it was not even there. had no trouble in the offroad department either considering that it is pretty well standard. hope all goes well and even if you dont get the 2.8 make sure you at least buy a patrol!!!! good luck
