View Full Version : Did they do a 2.8 in 91 ?

As the thread heading says, did they put a 2.8 turbo into a 91 GQ.

I was under the impression they did not start getting fitted into the GQ's until 1995

The 2.8 was released in 1995, from what I remember....

No they did not so I bought it...

Can have a small win sometimes so now am the owner of an average condition GQ 1991 TI 4.2 diesel auto.
Will post up pics later.

Not so much of a surprise for me as I was sure they did not make them in 91. I was just hoping the people who were selling it hadn't actually done an engine swap and removed the 4.2 to put in a 2.8.

Fortunately, it was just a case of them not quite knowing there patrols...
