Park lights come on when braking. WTF MATE?

G'day Members,
Hi I'm zombiemoo long time reader first time poster. I have a problem with my 96 RX. The park lights come on when braking and I am an absolute electrotard(electrical retard). The brake lights are flickering with the park brake on. I have checked the fuses and none have blown. Any guidance on where to start would be great cheers all.

As for the problem: do you have a trailer plug that may be damaged or faulty?
