Hi Everyone,

I just moved into Australia. Staying in Newcastle!
Not a Patrol owner yet, but will be one VERY soon, as soon as I decide what engine I want to get!
Any pro tips will be appreciated regarding the engines...

Hope to fit right in and join the fun!

Thanks!

GdY mate and welcome........... All depends on what your budget is. If you're after a new patrol, then you'll only get a 3lt TD or 4.8 petrol. The 4.2TD stopped in 2006 and still command a fare wad of cash. Also depends on if you're after a GQ or GU

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I come from Singapore, but my place of birth is India!
I am in for a GU, and yes after all the research that I have done, I understand 4.2 is the motor I should be after!

Unfortunately they go for a lot of cash! My budget is somewhere around 15-17k AUD, so that definitely rules out the brand new patrol!
I am not to keen on the 3.0L motor...

Will be using the vehicle for some medium to hard offroad trails and a lot of touring...so was wondering if the 2.8 will do me any good?

Thank for all the tips in advance guys! :)
Hope to meet up with all of you soon!
