heya guys
hoping to get some help identifying this diff, so i get the right one this time. ordered just a GQ 4.1 from the wreckers and they gave me the standard one, pulled out mine and noticed the size ifference. its not massive the standard one still fits in but the fkange to connect the tailshaft is slightly too small (like 5mm). what one do you reckon it is? any help would be very appreciated as my truck is currently up on stands :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
thaks guys

Count the teeth and you will find out. Also the smaller flange was on models with the smaller box (2.8,rb30 )

i know its 4.1, is that why you said count the teeth?

Yeah misunderstood your question. You should be able to just swap the pinion flange over with your old one

is it worth sourcing the larger one again, for strength n stuff? got a week to chase it

G'day Shorty,
Not sure I follow.
Do you have a unit which doesn't fit, or something which does but could be replaced with another with more balls? (Gotta ask, what's a 4.1.,,,, presume it's a tooth ratio) Not up on diffs so I'm lost there.
Would be inclined to keep any replacements at standard (teeth/ratios etc.) as Mr. Nissan probably has it down pretty well pat.
Some wreckers are pretty gung ho and will sell you a unit (different model/year) with the assurance that it's better than standard. Like I say, bog stock is a good place to start.
All the best

Are front and rear flanges the same?? I know the axle spline count is different so possibly different flanges aswell..

As above, they did bring out a few different sized diffs, but they were different ratios to.
Have you counted the teeth to ensure its a 4.11 ratio?

The ratio should be stamped on the outer edge of the crown wheel, shouldn't it?

Your not trying to fit a H233 diff into a H260 housing or visaversa??
