I have recently purchased a gq patrol for 10k, although I was told it was in great condition I think the owner and I had different views on what great condition is. Everything mechanical wise seems to be good as I bought the vehicle in Victoria and drove to the sunshine coast (in 25 hours :) ) without any problems at all. Upon viewing the vehicle when I flew down to Victoria he had failed to mention things that I would imagine you would tell someone coming from so far away but I guess he knew I was going to buy it anyway( I should have asked about particulars.)
• Drivers door hinges flogged out.
• Wagon window clip broken.
• A lot of stone chips on the bonnet and some on the pillar which have surface rust.
• Tachometer sometimes works .(mostly doesn’t)
• Windscreen needed replacing. (I was told about this)
• Rear sway bar link thread stripped. (I was told about this)
• Slight leak from turbo pipe to intake manifold.
I do realise these are small issues but they all add up, I am just happy to have a 4wd :) and a powerful one at that.
so far I have fixed the window clip, replaced the windscreen and have purchased new door hinges just need to chuck them in. A mates got a few swar bars laying around so that's good.

Bit worried about the leaking pipe going to replace the gasket but I'm not sure if that much oil should be going through.

Cant wait to lift her up, put some draws in and go for a trip :)

Going to do a service soon as I seem to be using a fair amount of oil, going to put some penrite hpr diesel 20-60 in

Welcome Fisher, and it looks it pretty good condition in the photos.....

I wouldn't be too worried about the few things, as you will definitely find a lot worse on some vehicles.

Door Hinges can be bought from Ebay or Patrolapart - possibly wreckers if you can find good ones.

The hardest one is the stripped thread on the swaybar and the rest is easy.
