I'm doing some re wiring under the hood and want a decent positive terminal that has a couple of big connection points on it for 4 large cables.
Main, power out, winch and the supply to the second battery

This is what I have there at the moment minus the dual battery cable.

Notice the way the main supply is hooked up. Never seen something like that before.

So what do you have for me?

I use the solid brass jobs that have a 5/16th bolt that you can bolt all accessories to.
Carefully tip some boiling water on your terminals and spray with terminal protector spray
Edit;; my main battery is like yours BTW

Mines broken off too and just cable tied in position , bit of work making up new pos+ leads.
Would make life easier though, agree not pretty to look at

Not pretty at all. Lol

Anyway do you know where I could get the cover from as I don't have the top cover at all.

And now I see the difference the last owner of the car must have drilled another hole in mine for another mounting point.

I'm not gonna remake the mains lead.
But I am doing the dual battery supply and winch, as I'm gonna wire the which up to run of both batteries :)

Not sure as an OE part it might be pricey, and they only break from all the extra "stuff" we add, if concerned
maybe cable tie a piece of inner tube on it.

Yer I always chuck a rag over it.

Might just do that TD, cable tie some rubber over it.

Cheers.

Does it cover the full length of the pos?

Mine is the same, the cover does protect the whole top on mine.

I must be one of the lucky few whose positive terminal cover is still intact.

X 8 on what MR says take real care when removing your dip stick to check your oil.
have heard horror stories of ECU's being fried, so make a habit of putting some kind of insulation over it.
The thick cable with the tin plate goes to the rear of your starter I think, so with a bit of thought you could have a very tidy POS+
terminal.

Cheers guys. Think ill just get some rubber from bunnings and cable tie a cover over it.

Cheap and simple :)

@ Silent Dreams try changing your wing nuts for 5/16th nyloc nuts , wing nuts are prone to come loose.
plus how have you found that CAT battery??

you could always cover the terminal with a small plastic container and cut slots in side for wires
make slots tight and it will stay on

I built a computer for a auto sparky so I took that as payment. I've been working non stop on the electrical last months so for the moment wing nuts are great.

Are cat batterys hard to get or something?

Not a good pic but you can see on the left. Easy to plug new things too.

This style is good for the Aux, but the 6 fuse junction box from Jaycar off the Aux would be neat as well

Yer ive seen the terminal before. I personaly dont like them for a mains connection as the are a screw onto the cable connection.
I much prefer a lug as its more solid in my opinion.

TD as for those terminal i can get them for free from work.
Might make a copper buss bar to come of them.
And yer i boughy one of those fuse boxes from jaycar for all my smaller cables. 10 way tho. Never know when you need more :)
