Over the past 4 weeks I have had the pulley/belt squeal come and go but still not enough to drive me mad although it can get embarrassing as people are pointing as you drive down the road. The first attempt was changing the bearing with no luck I let it sit another 2 weeks. Planning to hit some tracks this weekend I decided to replace the belt and tensioner assembly and I'm glad I did.
Shot over to my mechanic and had him replace the old unit with one I got from a facebook contact on a Nissan Patrol page. My mechanic told me that it was rather seized and when the pivot bolt was removed it sprung apart.
What you see in the picture is what's left of the cer clip that holds the tensioner together as it has rusted away.
Sometimes its not the bearing!
And so quiet now:smiley_thumbs_up:
