I have recently baught a 2008 patrol common rail with 83000 km and as i am not familiar with the GU models I am asking for some advise. The vehicle is showing signes of the boost problem with oil leaks from the breather tube, crank case cover and the turbo tube. Is this problem normally found in vehicles with such low milage. Does this over pressure problem create a back pressure on the fuel pump delivery side, and where do I get information on the sereal number of the motor which matches my vin number at the time of manufacture. Many Thanks John

Hi and welcome to the forum, the CRD is usually more forgiving to over boosting than the Di.
Disconnect battery for 1/2 hr , if your IC is oily it may well be leaking and possibly a warranty issue.
Give the motor a good degrease and suss out your leak issues, Jump on the search engine
and see if anything is available on CRD overboosting, jump in and enjoy
