G'day lounge lizards,

As you already know, over the last 8 months my health had deteriorated where my self-esteem and morale were at an all-time low, especially when I had to withdraw from the Cape York trip which is currently underway.

However, I organised a tune-up session, B/Q and a 4x4 fun run for the weekend just gone 10/11th August. This turned out to be a fantastic event where everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

I should have changed the name from “10 August Tune-up session & B/Q at my place!” To farken Astro day. Lol This prick hogged the whole day lol, poor old NP99 (Shane) Trekster (Eric) and myself missed out! (Bloody Fireman!) What made things even worse, Astro (Steve) the cheeky prick, and then made all of us work on his Patrol.

Lunch-time was the same; “fark” it was like a Le-Mans 24 hour race start to get to the farken steak sandwiches. Gees that Astro is quick and farken eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He would put King Kong to shame! Lol

That evening the B/Q went fantastic we had 20 adults and children whom had a great time. I would like to personal thank my mate Alan who recently just retired as a head chef. Alan did all the prep work for the food and also did all cooking for us throughout the day. He did this so that the rest of us could work on farken Astro's Patrol. Lol Also I would like to thank the ladies whom made and provided the lovely deserts and entrees.

Sunday morning was fantastic with Astro giving me orders to cook breakfast, whilst the prick munched his toast, wetting his tonsils with coffee and read the farken papers! Gees this guy has more front than Myer’s!lol

A mate of mine, Kev Smith who is a freelance journalist and writes regularly for 4x4 Action Camper trailer touring and Camping with you 4x4 and has also participated in several 4x4 Action DVDS during his career, organised a 4x4 fun run around the hills and mountains around Coffs Harbour for our forum members.

A special thanks to Kev for organising this day which was action packed from nissanewby conquering the infamous COMMANDO track to Trekster and NP99 getting bogged. Lol

Once again, thanks for Astro (Steve), Nissanewby (Matt), NP99 (Shane), Trekster (Eric) Eric’s father in-law Julian, my mates, Alan and Kev and our wife’s and children whom also attended this fun weekend!

Not forgetting this great forum that allowed us all to get together and finally meet and greet one another. Well done AB.

I am seriously considering to make this a regular event here on the Coffs Coast every year!

PS, I will up load photos soon!

Regards,

RLI

I googled the problem when I got home and found heaps of instances with the same issue.

If the alarm is activated (engine immobilised) when the battery is disconnected, it will be immobilised when it's re-connected. Hence the manual over-ride each time I tried to start it. I called into GEM today and Andrew had the remotes working within a couple of minutes. PHEW

AWESOME weekend mate

G'day Trendsetter!

Coffs Harbour is a fantastic place to visit! Not because i live here.

My advice is you intend on traveling to my back-yard,contact a friend of mine Kevin Smith from Coffs 4WD Tours/Coffs Harbour TJM Megastore on 0439 648 248 or 02 6652-4899. Tell him Paul (RLI) from this forum told you to call for advice where play and visit.

Kevin has produced a book titled Coffs Coast 4WD Destinations. Compulsive reading if you intend playing around this beautiful location! Coast about $30.00. Mention me to either Kevin or Mark to see if they will give you a discount/increase on the book! Also speak to Mark the owner of TJM, he too has a mountain of local Knowledge off the area!

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u434/RLI1/Turbo%20photos/IMG_1651.jpg (http://s1067.photobucket.com/user/RLI1/media/Turbo%20photos/IMG_1651.jpg.html)

Kevin has appeared on a few of the 4x4 action DVD's over the years with Roothy and the 4x4 action gang! Kevin is also a regular contributor to various Camping and 4x4 magazines. A dead-set fair-dinkum bloke!

PS, Keep an eye out for Kevin s camping articles of the Mid/North coast of NSW. Great reading, packed with heaps of info.
