I just stuffed up and put 40 litres of unleaded in ny diesel fuel tank. Got RACQ to tow me home, didn't start the engine. How am I going to drain the tank and what will I do with the fuel?

Lift the rear carpet to expose a round cover plate screwed with 3 screws.
Remove plate to expose the fuel pickup setup.. Remove the 2 hoses, and wires. Remove the screws and carefully lift out the pickup and float system.
Then syphon fuel out..

As what to do..

How much diesel is in the tank? Assuming your full you have 50lt diesel and 40lt of petrol?

Not ideal by any means but not catastrophic.

Siphon out what you can, even old school hose down the filler neck, things are a little tight there though so a small hose will be needed. If you end up with some petrol through your diesel though it will be ok. It will probably fire crisp and strong. I have heard people say it never ran so good while the contaminated fuel was in there.

50/40 is a bit too much though mate. If you were at 15/75 or something I would probably drive it, then in intervals add another 10lt diesel each day.

My gq has a drain plug in the underside of the fuel tank, but I've heard that not all models come with this?

G'day Stocksy,
presume by now all your woes are gone.
If not, type in DRAIN FULE TANK in the search panel top right of the screen. There's hours of pleasant meandering following the rest of us drongos going through your little exercise.
Regards,
Col

How true is the old Myth of tipping in a cup of Metho ever so often.
After reading this sounds like a cup of ULP couldn't do any harm either
