Nah mate, i was following the build of a 12 rotor monster but lost track of it, whats the 6 rotor like ??

I should clarify to non rotor people that the R100 and RX models where the ones that came out with rotaries and the 808 was a piston model that guys like to mock up with rotors

Same as the Mazda 808 looks Like an rx3 but is a 4 cylinder but people like to put 13B rotarys in them and pass them off as rx's

Lol, love flat shifting the old rally bombs over the paddock. They don't have power so ya gotta squeeze the most outta them haha. Got a corona wagon with no clutch that requires precise gear changes!

Ahh brings back memories of my '84 Nissan EXA turbo, had a whopping 77kw at the flywheel lol i used race change in the dry to get 2nd to spin the wheels but in the wet what a weapon!!! Snap 2nd, hold the spin till about 60k's then snap 3rd till the 1.5 ltr could spin the wheels no more. Had to adjust the tappets every 2 weeks hahaha

Love the 12a rx3's pointy nose cone), my mate that was driving next to me when i drove thommo to elwood beach car park in 14 mins has a blue coupe that he swapped out the 12a extend port for a bridge ported 13bt. Another mate recently bought a rx3 10a sedan and threw in a 20btt triple rotor.

If you drove a rotor as a daily it would have the same fuel consumption as a tb45 just more fun to drive!!! And say bye bye to your license lol

Well having both i can honestly say that if you drive like a granny a 13bt and tb45 have the same fuel consumption BUT from experience i have also used 30ltrs to 23km :)

Edit: thats with a worked rotary when it was stock it was very economical 8l/100 hwy 12l/100 town 24l/100 racing

My first car was an RX4 4door 13b Rotary! Bloody awesome car. As stated Mazda ran the RX series in line with their model range of piston cars.

Capella -RX2
808 - RX3
929 - RX4
? - RX5
Then RX7 in its own right

The RX range featured Rotaries. All RX wore a new Pointier And distinctive Nose Cone and for the RX2 & 3 scored the circle tail lights.

One of the most insane thing I saw as a young fella was a mate with an R100 13b. Holy Crap! In its day that thing was insane. Light and Fast!

Back when I got my licence the RX3 was 12 years old and ripe for the picking. Manaros, SLR Toranas, XU1s, XB Gts, XC Fairmont with factory bonnet scoop were all the rage and plenty had P plates on them. What an era! Now anything from that list that is still in existence is a collectors item and worth 10 to 30 times the value that we were buying them for as our first cars back in the day!

My RX4 was a Tbar Auto and did 105km/h in 1st, 160km/h in 2nd and off the clock at 200km/h in Drive! Loved that car!

Can't remember which model was the piston version of the RX4......on the tip of my younger but just not coming to me....

That workshop manual was the only image I could find of a 4door! Mine was a 4door (rare even then) with thenRX pointy nose cone of the top image.

It looks like the RX4 and rX5 were both the 929 but the RX5 was the later model after the body change of the 929 into a larger car.

The first version was released as an R100 as there was never an RX1. When they realised the potential of the rotary into a larger car they put it into the next model being the Capella and called it the RX2

The R100 ran a 10A twin rotor, simple to understand engine size like our patrol motor 10a= 1000cc 12A = 1200cc 13B = 1300cc all twin rotors. Mazda also brought out the Cosmo that was a prestige model with all the bells and whistles and started to play with turbos and adding extra rotors :D, the first cosmo sported the 12A turbo with bigger manifold runners to aid in performance then later brought out the JC cosmo 13BTT twin rotor ( the FD rx7. Series 6,7 and 8 has the same sequential twin turbo setup but larger turbos but smaller manifold so produced less power than the cosmo) and 20BTT triple rotor. In 1990 the JC cosmo was the first car in the world to have factory navigational GPS.

I swapped out my FC (series 5) 13BT for the cosmo 13BTT but launched the disgraceful sequential twin turbos for my factory single turbo setup :D

What most don't understand is that even tho it only has 2 rotors it has 6 combustion chambers so its like a 6 cylinder engine, 3x rotors 9 cylinder, 4x rotors 12 cylinders. The 20b triple rotor sounds nothing like my engine but more like an old school pro stock car v8 and the 26B quad rotor, well thats the stuff dreams are made of ;)

Love tunnel rams and camaros BUT your GQ is a ricer Growler, its got more db from the exhaust then the motor has HP hahaha my rx has 5 times the amout of HP than the db coming out of the zorst !!

Td42 has a massive 75kw at the flywheel yeh thats probably around 40 rwkw ?? Measure the db reading from the zorst, 1m away on a 45 degree angle. At a guess i rekon it would have around 80db from the exhaust pml....

They are called KPM motorsport. I had a quick look on their site and they seem to do builds for lots of different vehicles. Im not a %100 fan of the vf yet but that one above looks very nice, and tough too!
