Hi
Just bought my second patrol. The first one was more rust than car so i gave it up.
But this second one has been frame lifted and rust welded from back to front.
Only the reassemble remains. And about all the wiring loom hangs out everywhere.
Alot of job ahead of me, but hopefully well worth it.

Will post some pictures when i get off work.

This is the 2,8td and yes, it will be tuned. Going for Fmic, diesel compensator mod and 3 inch exhaust. :D

Yes the front bumper is a rear bumper, looking for a proper one..

My Garage is 215cm wide, the patrol is 210cm, on the fenders. Tight fit!

Oh i will! This is the biggest car forum i've come across. And just reading bits here and there I can only assume that the knowledge posted here is only a fraction of what's in peoples heads.

I actually bought the car from a small skinny blonde girl, with two chiwawa dogs..
She mounted the fenders and painted it herself. awesome chick, and did a pretty good job!

Welcome aboard mate, looks like you are up for some fun in the future. Sure sounds like a top chick too, could almost look past the dog choice if she can rebuild a rig like that. Did she mount the back bumper on the front so she could stand on it to access the engine bay easier???

Would be fun to see her driving the car.. with chiwawas... rather that than a pink cab!
I suppose that is partly why, it makes a great step! Thinking about making a similar solution when e get a hold of a bullbar.

What is Fmic diesel compensator?

Fmic = Front mounted intercooler..

The diesel compensator is an actuator on the old turbo diesels. It gives you more fuel when your turbo boosts.
Most people just adjust the mixture screw when they tune. Or the smoke screw if you will.
The more correct thing is too adjust both the compensator and the screw. But it is difficult and can easily make your car behave like a 14 year old girl with pms..

A really well written thread!

Great to have rollers to put the car on. The floor is tiles, but it still goes to move it with only one person as if i can reach the wall with my feet.
My garage used too be a store that only sold beer actually :) That is why there are tiles :)

New update!

Printed out the manuals / bible and started checking the electrical wires on the car.
A lot of work getting everything too work when several owners has made their own "adjustments" to the wires. Cut and spliced wires everywhere.

Got some sound deadening glued on as well. And threw the carpets in a soapy bath over night. Not sure if that is enough to get them clean..

new update. Drove 2500km last weekend to get a hold of a new interior in leather. Cars for spare parts is hard too come by here..

So! new front bumper, new seats (7!), etc..

Started putting the car together with washed (still looks dirty but smells like flowers) carpets, new seats and all the small bits here and there.

Had a little problem with the washer and blinker handle. New wiring harness and old steering column. Don't fit properly but works :)

Glued on some new carpets and started the work with the front bumper.
The old one was rubbing the tires and just looked way too small.
Easy fix with parts from my spare one.
