Loving this vehicle, Have had it for about 3 weeks and can't stop driving it.
It is a family wagon for us that will allow us to tow our camper a bit further afield.

Immediate plans are to fit EGT & Boost gauges.
Then catch can, dual batteries, snorkel and racks. No doubt this list will grow.

Thanks all.
Just ordered the Autron EGT/Boost with additional temp sensor and pillar pod. Will fill the second hole with dual bat gauge when funds permit, and I fit up a second bat. Hope to use the additional temp sensor on the side of the block somewhere as an engine temp, backup to the factory coolant gauge as can set an alarm on all 3 scales.

Love the black Patrol, I also have the same but GU8 in black with Autron gauges. You'll love the look and capabilities of a Patrol even as a stock car.

Hey Mego, that Patrol of yours looks great, and love the look of those seats. Bet they are comfy. Can't wait to get my gauges in as they look great as well. There was a slip in the mailbox this arvo, so hopefully the pod and egt/boost gauge has arrived. Now just need to find some paint for the pod to match the trim.

Now to find some time to install.
Have drilled the pod and slotted the gauge in, these things look awesome.

So got the EGT/Boost gauge in today, in a currently unpainted pod. Put a barb in the pre-IC pipe, installed the pyro sensor about 20mm from the dump pipe turbo flange, and put an additional sensor on the side of the head. Heat shield came off relatively easy after removing the turbo actuator. See what people mean by you need to manuvre it the right way to get it out. Did manage to place the probe in a position that didn't require a hole in the heat shield.

So figures are in after the test run.
100km/h 8psi boost 325c egt at 2600rpm.
110km/h 10psi boost 375c egt at 2800rpm.
Peak of 16psi and 525c egt under heavy acceleration from standing start up to 100km/h.
<275c around town unless heavy acceleration.(Autron gauge scale starts here)
So pretty happy with performance. Been averaging 11-12L/100.
Very happy to have gauges there now to monitor.
Only need to ease up on go pedal and egt's go down quick.

So finally got back to tidying up the EGT/Boost install, which has been faultless. Very happy with the Autron gauge.
Thought I would throw up some more pics, may help someone.

Picked up and installed our ARB Alloy Roof Rack yesterday.
http://i570.photobucket.com/albums/ss143/danil14c/ARBRack_zps70d980a9.jpg
Mate and I decided best way to pick it up was to install it rather than risk damage on an undersized box trailer.
Very happy with it and two thumbs up from my son.

Have ordered a battery tray while at ARB, wish I had have pre-organised that. Could have been playing today.

So ARB battery tray was easy to install and looked the goods. Would recommend. Have since done a 4000km trip with camper and the beers never went hot, so very happy.

On the weekend I had received my Dawes and EGR kit from Mudski so got to making them happen while giving the patrol a service. While I was at it decided to inspect the intake for build up and was reasonable happy to find it not to bad. Good build up starting though, so easy to see how bad it can get. This was with 149k on the clock. Got the Dawes set up to limit the boost spikes of 20-22psi, now see nothing above 18psi, but now see boost drop from 10psi at 100km to 5psi and egt's climb then back to 10psi and egt's drop and repeats all over. I am assuming this is because the ecu is dropping boost to let EGR in that I have blocked. So now think I am in need of needle valve as well.

In all very happy with the patrol's progress and performance.

Nice job mate great pic's ... hoping to do the same to my 02 in the next few weeks

OK so installed a needle valve now and WOW. The boost prob's I was having at 100km/h gone and have a great spool up rate and improved drivability. I now have 10psi at 100km/h, a max of 18psi under the heaviest off acceleration, the slightest acceleration from 100km/h or an incline and the boost will start to rise keeping the egt's in check and performance great.
The combination of the block and the dawes and needle valves is great and gives a predictable boost level with egt's in check.
I would recommend anyone with a Di ZD30 not to do the EGR block without the Dawes and needle valve. But would highly recommend the combination.
