Dog fights in victoria

Just a warning to owners of big dogs in Victoria, rumour has it that a 60s Toyota is doing the rounds of the Northern and Western suburbs stealing dogs for dog fights. PPl up the road had 2 Staffy go missing. So make sure your Mate cant get out,

There's a story about this doing the rounds. I'm not quite sure of its validity though as I heard it in relation to the southern suburbs, then the Mornington Peninsula and now the northern suburbs.
My suspicion is that it is an Internet hoax/urban myth.

Some of my sons friends told him who told me.
They use the small farms out Werribee and Laverton, but small group that move fast I would think.
Just all wrong, what's wrong with the world these days.

Thanks to Tim for posting up the Snopes link (hadn't had time to do it myself). I was sure I had heard it all before.
Peeps, please don't believe everything you hear. Many of these sort of stories have been doing the rounds for years.
Snopes is an excellent place to go and check suspected BS or urban myths.

about 2 months ago there were people warning about a green navara with dog cages on the back in the Werribee area stealing dogs ive kept an eye out for it but ive never seen it and I drive all over Werribee and Werribee sth every day
