Hey all,

I am off on a road trip with some mates in my patrol. Had a look at our already booked accommodation and turns out both hotels we are in have small car parks. Sydney hotel is only 1.8m, and Melbourne is only 1.7m.
To me both of those are ridiculous as i cant even walk in there let alone put my car in there, which measures at approx 1.9m.

So my question is, where can i park my car in Sydney (Surry hills) and Melbourne (st kilda)?
Preferably something that isnt going to cost an arm and a leg, but end of the day its still going to be cheaper then having a convertible patrol.

Any info is appreciated.

Cheers
Lachlan

Stkilda...I wouldn't be leaving my patrol on the streets at night mate. Or anything inside the car. At a minimum put a club lock on and disconnect something under the hood.

Hopefully someone around the area can advise some secure spots. Plenty of trams to get around if you need to park away from where your staying.

Hmmmmm.......
It can be a bit tough to find off street parking in that area if St Kilda Rd. there are a few hotels though down on Queens rd. You might have to pay but would be better than leaving your rig on the street at night. That said, there should be plenty of street parking around there but some of it will be meters during the day.
I do a bit of business in that area and can probably do a bit of a reccie for you during the week.....

I reckon the car park heights you have been quoted are incorrect quoted by someone at the desk. No way a hotel has a head height of 1.7m!!! That's 5'8" in the old scale! No way.

Much more likely to be 2.0 or 2.1. The building code would require more than 1.9m for a start.

Grab an address and check it out on Google Maps street view and you may well be ale to read the head height sign off street view.

Here is a link to the Regis Suites

If they can't park you, go half a block up to Lorne St and turn towards the lake. There is secure undercover parking under the Sebel on the corner of Princes Hwy. you will fit not a problem and maybe 200m away.

If you're staying near Albert Park, there are some residential streets around that area (Albert Park, Middle Park) with free unlimited parking .. that's if you're looking for on street parking.
e.g. Wright St, Canterbury Pl, etc
Safer than St Kilda in any case :)

It is across the road from Police Headquaters ;)

Looks like there is underground parking behind it in Lower Campbell st.

You will be fine mate.

Have a great trip mate

Here is your answer for the Melbourne hotel:
32540

As MudRunner pointed out there are a few other car parks in the area with clearance around 1.95.

Happy trails.

We usually pick somewhere with valet parking. the look on the valets face when he sees the patrol is priceless. It once spent the weekend parked outside the crowne hotel main entrance, it was more secure than at home!

We got it valet parked in Sydney. The bloke didn't seem to impressed with having to park it. It was even a chore for me parking it in some of the parks. Hard to get out of the car too.
