Hi all

Does anyone know if the twin pot caliper pistons on the gq efi are interchangeable with gu patrol twin pistons? Only reason I ask is nissan want $90 each for the gq where as eBay has 2 for about 40 but listed for a gu patrol.

Thanks all

Andy

I got a response from the eBay seller, he said they won't fit. If anyone knows where I can get the pistons, apart from nissan, then I'll be your mate for life.

Parksy,
sorry to be so slow. Don't have a clue as I've never had a prob. with the caliper pistons on two models but if the pistons themselves are OK, as I'd expect, then the rubbers may be part of a recon. kit. Mind you, if the cylinder is scored and stuffed you're really back to square one. Have you looked up recon. kits? What about wreckers as a last try?
May need a pointy stick to push it uphill with.
Good luck

Thanks guys. I ended up buying the genuine nissan unit. I only needed the one because when I pulled the front calipers apart, I found that one of the pistons was replaced with an aftermarket unit, but it had a different profile on it, meaning different surface area which meant the 2 pistons within the caliper were extending at different rates. Not good. But sorted now.
If the pistons I listed were going to fit, I was going to just buy four.
