Hi guys !
Finally went for a pink slip this morning which I've succefully failed :D

The guy showed me that my lower control arm bushes are a bit worn and show me which parts I have to buy and then show me some oil on the engine needed to be degreased and other stuff like brake pedal rubber a little bit worn and parking brake needed to be adjusted.

Finally got the safety check report but the worn lower control arm bushes are in the "comment section" not in the "reasons for
failure"

in the "reasons for failure" section there is
the worn rubber from brake pedal
the handbrake in need of adjustment
the oil leak ( the oil needed to be cleaned out after a missed oil refill..)

He said my car is in very good condition, well looked after ^^

So I just need to fix the things in the"reasons for failure" section not the worn bushes which I cannot fix at this time.

Am I right ?

Not life threatening stuff, funny how you need rubber on pedals to have good tread for a RWC.
At least he pointed stuff out instead of being a RRRshole
Fix oil leak , pedal rubbers order the bush and take it back I say

G'day,

Im no mechanic but I would say that "Yes", you will need to perform all listed repairs required before they will pass an inspection.

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/regorenewal/vehiclesafetycheck.html

If your vehicle FAILS the safety check:

1.The safety check station will issue you with a repairs needed report (previously white slip). This report details the parts of your vehicle that need to be repaired.

2.Make all the required repairs within 14 days of the repairs needed report issue date.

◦If you do not make all the required repairs within the 14 day period your repairs needed report will expire. You will need to return to a safety check station and to get another safety check – a new safety check fee will apply.

Cheers,

Rob

Thx guys !

I think he was seeking for some job for his business.
He was asking me if I wanted to do the repairs myself.

But he knows the GQ, he's got one ready to sell in his backyard.

I'll buy the bushes and bring them for the next inspection and change them when I'll have some times.

I'm impressed how this car is reliable !

You would think the lower control arm would be priority, saying that they were going to knock me back due to a bent bonet strut?

he is pointing out safety issues for immediate attention, a control arm bush can fail completely & you will still be mostly safe, you are very lucky because NSW is very lax in its rego laws for a pink slip, your wash bottle doesn't need to work nor you reverse light, you can never be knocked back for a non working reverse light, these are nonessential items!!!

Hi guys !
Just did my control arms bushes this week-end.
It was a bit hard but straight forward process without any surprises.
Did all the others requirements as well.
And I've succefully pass the inspection this morning !
