G'day, all. I have spent ages trawling through the forum and have only found an alternator upgrade for a td42, to an EL falcon alternator. My old troll has a 60amp alt, and as I am running a winch, I wish to upgrade to at least 100-120 amps. Is it possible to do so without hacking into the brackets?
I would like to keep the original alternator as a spare.

some use a bosch and keep the OE plug , not sure if it would
work with Nissan but far cheaper voltage reg than an OE

Don't make any changes to the engine bracket as its hollow - I found out the hard way.
I was running a EF on my MK
When I dropped the GQ RB30 in - it would not fit without mods to the brackets - I had wanted to make the engine bracket thinner.
I ended up with a VL donk that came with a VL alt - I use this.
