Hi thinking of removing the interior and applying some silver Heat and Sound insulation, I'll probably use Batts in the Qtr panels. Has anyone used the sticky back silver foil and foam insulation.
Don't know how to put link but it comes in 300mm square sheets.
Edit No future plans to do bog holes lol

I'm keen to do this aswell. But my plan is to pull all the carpets and seats out, give the underbody a thorough hosing to find any leaks and seal all of them. Then give the floor several coats of por15, then lined with the silver sheets. I like the idea of the sound insulation inside the quarter panels. When sitting in the cargo area having someone tap the outside of the panel, it's very echoey. Only issue I see with this one is the insulation getting wet and holding onto the moisture. But if there's a product out there that will suit this application id love to know about it.

i used dynamat through mine, stripped whole car and did the floors, firewall and all doors, works a treat and has a sticky back so you can mould it to all panels, great sound deadener and with the sticky backing no water gets through it.

Used audio batts in my troopy with great success, that's why I'll do it again with the Patrol
Just put heaps in so they don't fall the bottom of Qtr panel, could even prop them up with some polystyrene.
Don't forget to Lanotec inside any cavities,
I hope to do the same as you ,cost $110 free freight for 20 square ft of insulation in Dingly village Melb
May need to fit one of these if doing lots of water crossings /bog holes

If using polystyrene take care not to allow electrical wires to come into contact with it.

The way I see it is if you have gone to the effort to strip the whole car, do it properly. I'd do the doors too.

Yeah want to do it properly but you only stick the insulation over the plastic of doors
but you stick it to the floor if you get what I mean , I would have thought you'd stick it to inside of door, as in door skin
supposed to make sound systems sound better too

Yep to the inside of the door panels. I have Denso tape in the footwell of the front seats and the fire wall and the inside of the door panels on the front doors then painted everything else. All the inside skins were done with the product above. And full floor.

Cool thanks I'll go read the directions for drying times etc.
MR if you had the choice would you use it again, and have you used "Septone" because
you do Bogholes and river crossings, meaning it cant soak into any foam ?
@ MR,,,,,,, Ebay selling 16ltr for $48 but directions say paint underneath vehicle ??
This isn't just brushable pitch [Tar] is it
