Running temperature

Hey everyone,I have the 4.2 tdi and am just wondering where your temperature gauge sits when highway driving, mine is always around the half way point. And it is around the 18 - 20 degree days where I am. Thanks in advance

Most if not all after market gauges use half gauge as a normal running position, be it water, volts etc.
anything over half I'd be asking why?

Although I don't have the 4.2TDi, that sounds fairly normal .... my old 4.2 used to sit lower than half, but used to move up to nearly three quarters when pushed really hard.


All the 3Litre Patrols I have driven sit on just under half.

That's normal. Mine has always sat at around half.
