Hi Guy's, Can't keep oil clean on my CRD 07, change oil's at regular 5K interval
is this because of recirulation of oil mist egt! I have installed pro vent catch can

Define "clean"? It will be Black as buggery after 1,000kms.

If there is pieces of dirt in your oil then that another matter.

G'day mate,
assuming that you're new to diesels, the oil colour comes as a bit of a surprise. I got a hell of a shock the first time. Possibly something to do with the very high compression involved.
The Muddyman is right . As long as it's black as the inside of a dark dog but not lumpy, all is good. If it's a sudden change for your vehicle, you may have trouble.

p.s. I used to change oil AND both filters at 5K on the previous TD4.2 but with the rather longer servicing requirements quoted by Mr.Nissan for the CRD3.0 (I think he says 15K. I'm letting some services go out to 7.5K or so. Hope that's not asking for trouble but I reckon it should be O.K......Oils still black though.
