First things first i have no idea when it comes to turbos!
Alright so I have a 99 Gu coil cab td42 factory turbo with a 3 inch exhaust and dump pipe. I attached a photo of the boost tee 32132

so bring on the hate haha Alright so today I attempted too put the boost up to 10psi In an attempt to burn some of that fuel I can smell coming out the back. I used a turbo smart boost too tapped in between the wastegate and the cross over pipe. I dialled the boost tee right down to the minus but it kept boosting up too about 13psi and then it would make a fairly loud PSSSHHH NOISE any ideas? I have searched high and low on this but cannot find anything!

Obviously I pulled it out and put it back to normal after I did a blocky!

Also any tips on fuel economy because my patrol sucks on fuel!

Thanks guys

The boost tee should go between the waste gate actuator and compressor housing on the turbo. You basically take the little short piece out and put the tee there. If its hooked up the way you explain there is now an opening free to air which will be your noise.

Where are you located?

I did put it in where the little short piece was maybe 100mm long? I hooked up the wastegate line to the arrow that says wastegate on the boost controller and then the other line back to the other side of where the original line went?

I don't think it's the boost tee then. Does yours have the relief valve on the intake manifold? Are all you hoses between turbo and manifold tight?

It never made this noise until I installed the boost tee though could it just be a loose hose clamp?

And can I do any damage by putting it up too 10psi? I havnt got an egt gauge yet that's coming in a week or two.

Im pretty sure it's got the release valve up in the crossover pipe? Again sorry for my lack of know anything haha

Yeah if the hose clamps were loose it would make that noise and boost hard. I would set it to 12 psi.

I have mine set at 25 psi.

10 psi will do no harm to the motor, as long as EGTs are in check.

Trying to use Motorculture

So 12 will be safe with no egt gauge and no touching the injector pump? I might run down the super cheap and grab some new hose clamps now! Give it a crack!

Yeah 12 will be fine without No other adjustments.

Alright so I changed the hose clamp around and hey presto it works! Got it boosted up to 11 psi seems to be blowing less smoko and doesn't smell so diesely! And goes a bit better! Thanks for your help guys
