Do I bother?

Do I bother converting my 2.8td '97 RX Patrol to 4.2d? G'day all just looking for some advice on this conversion. I bought an 89 GQ with a 4.2d in it, the mechanicals are healthy but the car body is a throw away. Has dual battery set up and factory rear diff lock. My 2.8 never misses a beat but is gutless and would love some more power. I got quoted 8-10 grand to do the conversion and thought bugger that what a rip off. Now I am having second thoughts about even bothering doing the conversion, it seems quite complicated.
I would love to hear some opinions whether its will be worth the effort of if I should just sell the '89. If I do sell it as a 'full' car(mechanicals only really) how much do you think I could realistically get for it.

Keep the gu as a daily driver find a gq body and put it in with your running gear and have a weekend warrior so if you break something you still have your daily

Thanks macca, they are both GQ's and I like your idea, but the last thing I need is another car.... 4 regos and insurance already!

Thanks Ynot, I replied but lost the post in cyberspace?. I will definately get another quote. Normally I would do the work myself but I use this car for work so was going to get it professionally done just to speed it up.
