fuel figure QLD trip

Happy new to all .. I just had a quick trip to QLD for the new year to spend with the inlaws .. coast road on the way up 14.1 L/100 on the way back turned right a coffs and went through Armadale and along the New England back to sydney and that was 16.2 L/100 not to bad I thought for a 4.5 with 2 adults 3 kids and all the stuff that goes with it :-) ..

Happy New to you as well, that's pretty good fuel consumption there from what I have heard about the 4.5's.

that 4.5 must be well tuned im averaging 18.5l/100on gas

I am sure I did it the right way Lt divided Ks x 100 .. I put fuel in at beresfield full tanks , then fueled up at Reedy Cr on the way back put in 105 Lt and had done 742 ks X 100 = 14.1 if I am wrong please correct me ...

You are correct
I also have a 4.5 Litre Manual and use 18.5 Litres per Hundred K's on Gas.
I have never tested on Petrol but it should be less than Gas.
The Formula that i use is
Litres divided by (K's divided by 100) ie 105 divided by 7.42 which equals 14.15

Strewth... thats cracking good economy out of a loaded 4.5... as good as or better than many of the diesels

Well done, especially as you crossed the Great Divide twice on the way back so some serious hills involved

I only put normal unleaded 91 in the car on the way back I did 1060 and used in total 175 Lt = 16.5 .. 90 Lt in at Armidale and 85 Lt when I got home to Emu Plains .. and please note I was not towing the CT

you must have extractorsand a 2'' or 3'' pipe to get those figures
