loud injectors? crd

my friend tells me that my car sounds loud, and that it could be from the injectors being bad. i have an 08 crd ute, stock engine . but surely it would of thrown a code/engine light saying that the volt/spray is wrong with an injector?

my fuel economy is about 12.5-8 around town, and around 14.4 on highway (110 ish average)

Crd's are loud anyway. Louder than direct injection engines anyway. I've had both, a brand new CRD Isuzu and now this old girl and the CRD was way louder. I highly doubt its your injectors.
I did actually read somewhere about the noise of CRD's, and I think the reason was because they use a fuel rail and the injector noise resonates back through the line into the fuel rail. Something along the lines of that.

My 08 CRD is quite loud compared to my old mans TD Nav but she runs like a dream. I just put it down to the engine being louder.
