Hey guys, i have GQ with a 3' lift and am wanting to upgrade from 33's to 35's, im pretty sure i'll have to trim the sides of the guards at least, but what about new diff ratios, longer control arms (i still have standard ones) and anything else you guys could think of? the tyres will be 35/12.5/r15 on 15' steelies with a -22 offset, if that helps...
Cheers! BossGQ.

3" of lift I would go with drop boxes or ext arms depends on budget some guard mods will be required, bare in mind most states laws will pinch you with 35's these days

yeah alright, im hoping the fuzz wont pull up me up for it due to the lift only being a 3'' (doesn't really have a big/tall stance to draw attention), would 4.625 diff gears cut it? I've got castor bushes and radius arm spacers in for now, but the rear i reckon will need longer lower (maybe uppers as well) control arms to centre the wheel in the arch and get proper geometry back.

What motor are you running?
If you've got diesel most likely you'll wanna change those diff ratios

ive got the silver top td42 with a safari turbo kit running about 5-6 psi, looking to put a top mount in and get turbo engineering to tune it up for a few extra ponies

See how you go on the h/way after the mods
And also in low range steep stuff that's where the 35's could kill it. Maybe reduction gears could be the go for crawling??

If you currently have 4.11 diffs then yea I'm pretty sure you'll want 4.6's to get back to close to stock ratios.
MR is the man to seek.

4.6 ratios in mine with 35s. Mud guards come off (GU) and usual suspension shit. I'm taking my rig to 4" though

The ratios are perfect for the tyres

Without wanting to be a party pooper, regardless of whether the cops pull you up for it, if you have an accident and your insurance is void because you haven't had it engineered, do you want to be in that world if pain? Imagine if someone else got injured. You'd be screwed. Worth the thought.

Just get it engineered then. But around here I have heard they are too tough

Anyone here had a patrol engineered for 35's and say a 4" lift and possible costs involved.?
$1000 $1500 how much to get it legal.
Easy to make it look neat and draw no attention to it, but as Ben says if someone is injured $$$$$$$$$$
Can someone find out please, ball park would be ok for general idea

I had 2inch spring and 2 inch body 35x13.5 mudzillas on 16x10 -44 no guard trimming with 4.1s. Worked lovely.
