Hey guys,

Did a search but seem to have come up short.
Hope I looked properly.
What do people think is a good exhaust size for a TB45?
Have heard anything from 2 1/4 inch up to 3 inch.
Thinking extractors and hi flow muffler, but what about the pipe?
Also, she will be getting a snorkel later on.
Any suggestions along with reasoning would be great.

Cheers,

Evo

Extractors and eBay catback (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-GU-Patrol-Wagon-2-5inch-Sports-Cat-back-Exhaust-4-5-Petrol-/261229466817?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd27d54c1).
Mine has extractors, and is in desperate need of a free flowing exhaust.

Hey mate, when I had the 4.5 in mine. I put a 2.5" mandrel bent sports system on from redback. I used wildcat extractors, a stainless hi flow cat and a straight through muffler. It had no drowning noise and there was definate seat of the pants change to the power. It also allowed it too hold overdrive easier at 100kph.(auto obviously)
Cheers

Considering the 2.5" or 3" route, have access to a 3" cat second hand from a mate (good nick).
Plus I have a 2.4 injected motor running a 2.5" so was thinking 3" on the 4500.
Also extractors.
Was quoted for extractors, full 3" system, $1000 fitted.
This a good price?

Cheers,

Was told 3" too big and fitted 2.5 which is all good. Do the ring around. I paid $800 from extractors back inc high flow cat and muffler.

I have been told by a mechanic friend if mine who has owned and loved patrols for 20 years that he wouldn't bother with extractors on my TB42e. Reckons the factory exhaust manifold was pretty good. Said to go 2.5inch, hi flow cat and straight through muffler. That was all that's needed for good all around improvement.
