G'day ppl just thought i would post up some pics of our recent trip up to the Gold Coast and mention some of the hi-lites and low-lites.

Well firstly we stayed at the chevron towers, well I will just say the next time we come up we may as well look for some "skungie" back packers hotel and save some money. Having said that it was a conveniently located with a shopping center right at the bottom of it. If you are planning on doing the theme parks take some decent walking shoes as there is HEAPS!!!!! of waiting and walking and be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for food and beverage ($4.50 for a water). IMO sea world is the best as I am not much of a ride person and I REALLY enjoyed the dolphin and seal show the were amazing. having said that the new dinosaur world, well there isn't much of one at all was not impressed. Movie world was really well done all the characters were pretty well done up. I must admit as much as I hate roller coasters I did enjoy the scooby doo ride. I also really enjoyed the aqua duck which cruizes along the river was informative and funny. I also wanted to give a huge shout out to Super Slice Pizza on Orchid ave two doors down from the police station. the best pizza I have ever had!!! I have to let you all know that yes the shop is part owned by a very close friend of my brother in-law but even still if I didnt think it was I would not have mentioned it. All in all even though the first 4 days were crappy weather we had an awesome time and it is a beautiful place with mountains on one side and beaches on the other.

I refuse to do the theme parks when I go up, especially during the school holidays. Glad you enjoyed yourselves, it is good to do only once.

Looks like you had fun. I'm a thrill seeker bloke so all rides were done..
Tower of terror. Meh.. giant drop awesome. Wife like the tamer rides and the tigers. Well so did I, I'd love a white tiger.. :D no more dog issues... Lol

We stayed in the watermark hotel, close to the Q1 tower. Great place and recommend it. Full buffet breakfast included in the room price..

@ Mego

Yeh the weather was not good enough to go swimming otherwise I would have been the same as you spent all day in there.

@ Westy

Had a bad experience years ago on a roller coaster and have never been a fan since only went on the scooby do ride as some smarty pants told me it was more of a train ride, well it was far from it but I did really enjoy it so u could be converted.

Just as well that some folks enjoy what the Gold Coast has to offer. Personally I can't think of anywhere in Australia I'd like to visit less. That said we no longer have young kids. Did go once when our son was young.

I agree with you guys Cuppa & 3D, I went there for a couple of days on my way to Fraser about 6 years ago and hated it.
Too many people, too much traffic and huge lines for everything, would never go there again.

Can understand those with young kids wanting to go there.

Yeh my poor 5 yr old daughter did not like it one bit and cried and screamed the whole way, my older 9 yr old wasn't as bad but did not mind it. Had I known it was as bad would not have taken the little one.
