Has anyone tried this out to modify the power characteristics of their rd28t? I have a 99 gu patrol.

I say this because I come from a background of modifying rb series turbo engines. I know that advancing overall cam timing improves top end power whilst retarding improves bottom end.

Can the same principle be applied to the rd28t?

Also would it be beneficial if you could easily adjust the pump timing back and forth manually from the pulley or is there another easy way?

Thanks in advance.

Slightly different kettle of fish. Most diesel cams re designed pretty well from factory and are made to operate on boost for the majority of their life compared to a petrol motor which operates under vacuum most of its life. I cant see any gains to be had here.

Also the rd28 has electronic timing control and can be control via the fitment of a unichip etc.
