Well in about 6 weeks I've had 3 flats now due to crap in the bead.
Worst one was coming out from work after a long day to find a dead flat tyre.

Any way do these work

theres also these:

Be aware that drilling the extra hole in your rim to fit the second valve is illegal in all (most?) states in aus.

OR the external version for more hardcore stuff

But if you drop the pressure (with wheel of the groun OR off the vehicle) and give the bead seal a good clean to let it seal properly then it should be fine until you do hard driving (bouncing) with very low pressure.

What tyres you running? I've got Micky mtz and have the same issue but my mates have other brands and hardly get busted beads, as I've herd of a few others with Micky getting leaks also I'm wondering if its a design thing.
Personally as both bead locks are illegal I'd go the internal locks as they arnt as noticeable visually.

true but second valve stem stands out if they know what they're looking for. No probs with that stuff in this state though.

I dont rate Mickey T's and this adds to it.

How low pressure are you guys going? and how hard are you bouncing them?

I personally never drop the pressure, i find it more fun lol and saves pumping it back up for the high speed gravel sections lol

It happens with other tyres MT. What I have found is the pressure it is likely to happen at varies across brands. All tyres will do it as pressures lower and pushed hard. There are ways, sikaflex when the tyre is fitted, black tape around the bead seat on the rim to make it "tighter" etc. Even tech screws if you don't care about your rims

I running mickey t mtz, I go down to 20-22psi.
And I don't go really hard on them. Well I don't think I do.

Tech screws? Really? I think I'll pass.

As for the sikaflex would this just be a case of running it between the tyre and rim on the outside to fill the gap?

Nuh you will have break the bead then apply the sika and re-seat the bead.

Ill pass on the screws lol and if you sika once I think you will have to continue doing it all the time ?.
I run mine around 18- 24psi and give it a bit.

Very old school fix for spinning tyres on rims, Check out speedway bikes in the early days for example.
You must be going very low on pressures to repeatedly peel them off the bead,
Happened to a mate a few years back running BFG Muddies, but only front tyres

Not comeing off the bead...... Just getting crud in them and getting flats be it in 10 mins or 2 days it varies but it is annoying

As stated I do not go bellow 20psi.

So has anyone had either the staun or the second airs?
I've been reading a lot of mixed reviews about them.
One being that staun has closed up shop.

I run MT ATZs and have never had an issue..... have been as low as 9psi. Might be an idea to take it to a Tyre place and get it reseated.

haha yeah i was hoping you ment 20m psi lol.

Motorculture is an app for viewing forums on a phone. It gives you the option to put a custom signature line at the bottom. I wrote "so far so good on motorculture" because the app has been a bit sketchy lately

Thanks for that.

I do take them back to the tyre shop to get them reseated.

I was speaking to them and they reckon the sell heaps of my tyres and have never had someone come back 3 times.
Maybe people go else where after 2.

Could it be my rims? King wheels

they could be like me and pop it off with a bead breaker or high lift jack clean it out and reseat, it takes 15- 30 min with a high lift depending on how much crud is in the bead.

I have Micky ATZ 4 ribs and they are the worst for rubbish in the bead. I think i have had to get them cleaned out probably at least 7 time. I dont usually go below 20 psi. i actually have to run about 25 + to avoid it. I asked the tyre shop about it last time they where leaking, they said they tyre and rim where fine, the only thing they could put it down to was the tyre slipping on the rim.

Too right mate. I actually got to the point where i went and bought a big compressor so i didnt have to take it to the tyre shop to clean, and i havent had a leak since. Go figure!

Is the shop cleaning the bead properly?
Had it happen once only on the types that came in the prado cock heads reseated the bead but didn't clean
Never had an issue with my MTZ and run them between 16-18 off road

If it happens again I will just got to a different tyre shop and pay the $20 to have it done and see if there is a difference

I have the same as you MTZ 305s on 16x8 rims , I go down to 16 psi via deflators and never had a problem.
Now can only be one of two things wrong, well three that I can think, One the type of terrain loose shale big ruts,
Two your driving style, maybe a tad too fast too jerky on steering wheel, but cant see that as all drive too quick sometimes hey
and Three bloody forgot, go figure, nah got me beat

don't know where to get them, but the Nascars used internal bead locks, they had a single valve that worked both for the tyre and bead locks. maybe look at USA Nascar parts suppliers.

Illegal here for on road use sadly.

As far as I know, the only reason the internal beadlocks are illegal is because of the "modification of the rim", meaning drilling a hole for the second valve stem. So maybe the single stem set up janderson mentions is ok? It would definitely be undetectable

2 of the time i would say it happened when i was in a rut.
But the 3rd time i hadnt been 4wding for a couple of weeks and it just happened.

As for the bead lockers being legal, well to be honest ive never owned a legal car.
