hey all , so there somes a time in a young blokes life when life throws you an unexpected surprise, which means im deciding to sell my ute to get myself a 4 door wagon.
I found a bloke that has a 1999 4.2t ST wagon, and even better is he is chasing a late model DX ute!
im driving 100km on Monday to have a look.
from the brief phonecalls and pics ive learnt its done 330xxxkms, which is my biggest concern. sounds like hes really looked after it though, also has 3 inch lift bull bar brush bars etc, big roof rack awning and stuff. so my question is, what would you all expect to pay and what do I need to keep a look out for to determine the kind of life the truck has had? im assuming it should have heaps of life left in the motor but considering mine has only 48000 k on it, this thing has been around the block a few more times!
thanks in advance!

Low to mid 20's if its in good nic. Being an st is a bonus. There would be few with a lot less k's then that and you will certainly pay for it.

Is your ute a 4.2 or the later CRD?

Mines a CRD. Hes asking for 22000ono and it needs new tyres but seeing as we're swapping makes haggling limited but possible.

whats yours valued at?
swap your tyres as well then, should be able to do that and get him to maybe drop a bit at the same time if yours is worth more

be careful it isn't an engine swap one, I looked at a HEAP of those when I was looking for mine, want the money for a 4.2 when it was a 2.8 / 3.0 to start life and they had not changed the electrics, some that were DX stickered on the side, but advertised as ST as it had the better seats
if you know someone with access to Nissan Fast - and can get the Chassis number, that will tell you what it was when it was Born....... and what came with it

at all times, irrespective of your "Wanting" this, always be ready to walk away if things dont feel / sit / sound right

apart from that, sounds good so far
can you post pick of the Wagon? for us to peruse???

cheers

I will definately check out tje conpliance plates and stuff . If I post the vin number on Monday, is someone on here able to identify it and disect the vin for me? The tyres dont worry me as I have a mate who works at a tyre shop and he will look after me on some new rubber.
I was thinking around the 35-37k mark for my ute. Might be a bit much but im hoping for 15-17k changeover. Im provably dreaming but considering the condition age kms on mine compared to his, Its justified I think.
