Hi.

Just wondering , I need to replace my LHF door as my patrol was snatched into a tree :( . It has electric windows and mirrors. I'm just wondering if I have to get a door from 1 with electric windows / mirrors or can you just swap all the insides ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ash

The closer to identical the better, you probably won't get one from a wrecker with a door card etc but you might find the same colour and just swapping doors would be a winner mate.

I am considering changing my doors over also, have 3 out of the 4 electric windows do not work...have tried to find second hand switches but have had not much luck, then yesterday got talking to a bloke that has a mate wrecking a GQ same colour as mine but manual windows for 50 bucks a pop...So I am very seriously considering just swapping over to manual windows...Wise move or should I just try harder to fix mine up,it doesn't worry me going to manual windy-upy windows...Cheers

depending on the model as i understand there are a couple of different setups. Take a door card off and have a look at the motor. (Likely your trouble will be the motor and not the switch ... maybe). remove one of the motors (3 bolts) and see if it just goes over the top of the winder, if it does and there is a little white cap there just remove the cap, reinstall the card and fit a window winder handle. Everything else is the same ;)

One of them only winds down so I disconnected it..can wind them up and down plugged straight into the battery and by-pass the switches, front left had no switch since I bought it.back right wound down and the lock came on half way in the middle of WA..So I pulled it apart and botched it up so we didn't have to drive another 500km with the window down.Just thought stuff the electric crap and make them manual..Plus getting all 4 doors for 200 smako's I thought was a good deal..I might still get them and swap the motor out like you said me thinks...Cheers

Electric mirror models have different windows too but I don't know if it's just the glass that's different or the whole door.
