Hi all,

I seem to have a flogged out bolt thread on the intercooler mounting in the attached pic. Has anyone else had this happen? I have removed the bolt as it won't do up any longer.

I am guessing that there is a retention nut fixed beneath the front grill that will need replacing or I will need to tap a new larger size bolt thread.

Any advice?

Either tap it out to next size or run a helicoil through it. keeping it the same size.
That way you're not searching for different size spanners all the time.

Thanks, just had to look up what a helicoil kit was, but now that I know, I think I might give one a go as first option.

Easy to use and handy to have,
were quite common years ago repairing
stripped spark plug hole threads.

Too right. Job done and intercooler mount secure again. Thanks for the suggestion.
