I posted this up on P4x4 but no real answers. Thought I'd try here.

Looking for a cylinder head for an early RD28T (1990 German spec Patrol), vacuum pump on back of alternator. I may have found a good used head from a 1998 GU RD28Ti that has a glow plug broken off. Does anyone know if the Ti head is compatible with RD28T? Will the head off a later version RD28T with the vacuum pump driven off the camshaft fit an early RD28T with the vacuum pump on the back of the alternator? I am thinking that the later model head may be different due an extra lobe on the cam to drive the vacuum pump? Oil passages to lubricate the extra lobe? Would the camshafts need swapping?

Any info would help.

Im not 100% sure but do have some info that might help;

RD28T Hydryolic lifters

RD28ETI Mechanical lifters

There are 2 different cams in the RD28T and another different cam in RD28ETI

Regards,

Rob

Thanks Rob. Minus the cams I wonder if the heads are compatible?

I dont believe it would be worth it, easy to stick with the head that suits =[]
