Plan is to fit pillar pod to 2010 GU V1 wagon.
Have picked up 2 gauge pod today.
Gauges will be Boost & WaterTemp.
Autotecnica from Repco is one option OR
Road Runner 4x4 boost & water temp gauges which read up well.
If anybody has used any of these gauges feedback would be helpful.
Plan is to remove original trim and fit new pod in place rather than over it.
Have removed 2 screws & handle, no luck removing trim.Dont wish to damage it, any tips for removal.
Rather remove than place over top as wires ect would be tight fit.
Plan is to run down to kick panel through firewall, may have to drill extra hole with grommet ect.
Have brass fitting to silver solder or, weld steel fitting into elbow pre intercooler.
Temp sensor not sure as yet for best location, retaining original sensor rather than remove it.
Have fitted a Chipit module with EGT control unit which drops back to lower tune when EGT temp reaches preset 500 c.( Probe is 50mm post turbo) happy power & torque gain. But EGT getting up to 600c when putting pedal to metal.
Plan is to dyno tune when I have fitted gauges.
Will take photos if all goes well .
Any tips would be most welcome.

Was going to say an egt gauge is probably a better option over water temp, but if your happy to trust the chip... I wouldn't personally..
I'm not sure on the newer models but if its a plastic pillar cover the clips are quite stiff and do take a bit to budge.
But be awear that covers are fitted before the glass, and it will most likely fold in behind the windscreen rubber..

I went with a BOOST/EGT gauge and a dual volt meter gauge on my pillar pod.
I would reconsider adding a EGT gauge in my opinion. It will tell you a lot more than water temp.

maybe consider this put in an ultragauge which has boost and temperature and will clear faults as well and in your pillar pod mount egt gauge (must) and lets say a volt meter or a dual for 2 batteries mabe talk to alitis007 for some autometer gauges

On cost only I fitted Speco white face but VDO and others mentioned will do the job.
EGT guage should be in celius and boost zero to 30. What about one of those audible low water alert.?
Oil Pressure ?? You can fit another 2 guages behind the steering wheel, I'm told, or buy 3 pillar pod
from 4x4 Concepts on Ebay.

Trim removed no drama.
Remove 2 screws on handle, pull door seal back to expose trim.
Two clips hold trim to frame, one at top other 50mm below bottom screw.
If you pull at these points trim comes off with bit of effort.
No need to lever it off as you may scratch damage ect.
