I have had a better end to what has been a horrible week.
My son is battling cancer and has been on chemo for the last 3 months, earlier this week he had scans to check the progress and then met with a surgeon to discuss surgery to remove his tumors.
The original cancer was testicular and the surgery to remove it has been scheduled but the surgeon said he could not operate on the other tumors that are in his lungs.
My son and all of us were then devastated thinking it was all over but he met with his Oncologist today and was told that although he still has tumors in his lungs, they had shrunk to half their size and were likely not active. He then went on to say that there were surgeons interstate that can operate to remove them.
He still has a battle ahead of him but we have gone from a feeling of despair to a feeling of hope.

I have not had a drink all week because I wanted to make sure I was available for him if he needed me and booze probably would have distressed me more but tonight I have had a few beers and a few reds and now I am enjoying some bloody nice whiskey and feeling positive about his future.

As someone who has gone through it and made it through to the other end. All I can say is strength. The strength of the the family and friends will do heaps for his well-being.
Hope go hear more positives on this.
Stay strong......

Down the SW this time. Gunna spend some time with Avo, and probably some time down White Hills way. Gotta drop the missus off in Bunbury due to a work related injury.

Avo's told me I can see trees, cows and green grass all in the one day if I visit him. Up here at the moment it is very brown. Hay's been cut, and soon as the wheat dries out, it's either up and down or round and round for the farmers. lol.

I feel for the Southern Cross farmers. They copped a hiding with the hail over the weekend.

Yeah, I drove it every day after work for a week before the trip and racked up my 1000km, changed the oil and filters and straight to cruiser park. Got the Vic road worthy for Seamus today. The mechanic was extremely impressed with how neat and tidy he is.
I did notice a slight oil leak from above the turbo from the pressure side of the turbo, he said it's common fro them to weep a bit but it's fine. Can anyone confirm this?? I was a little confused how much oil should be getting through that point he does have a catch can.... But I do understand some might still get through.

Cheers.

When you say pressure side of turbo , is it the hose going away from the turbo to the intercooler ?? This could just be oil from the IC .

Yeah when I had the QLD Roady done the boys said the same as the VIC one in that it's normal and ok - he also was of the opinion it was oil from the intercooler (which is practically brand new)

When we did the intercooler, ECU, exhaust, catch can etc it was recommended that we put good quality silicone hoses on him but never got that far

I was told it was absolutely nothing to worry about so didn't give it a second thought .....

Yeah That's what I was told. All good. As long as I don't have to worry, I Won't. Might look at some silicone hoses though. And really seal it up just to remove the oil on driveway :)

It could also be the amount of oil in it they dont like being overfilled even a little bit.

A credit to Brad and Shaz, both have very good work ethic.

I'll have to check that. Could be a possibility. And yes they have done very well at keeping him all safe :) lovely people.

Silicone intercooler hoses on these motors are no good. Ive seen he turbos oil up, not much though, even from near new. The direct injection motors are the same.
Oil is silicones worst enemy. Silicone ic hoses will just slip off all the time. Been there and done that. It will just give you grief. Best off with new rubber hoses if you want to change them.
What sort of catch can is it btw? It might just be a matter of the can not catching properly or is needs to be emptied.

yeh depends where it is, land is a lot the house is cheap so if he is in the hills for instance i would basically be swapping my 6 bed for a 3 bed with an acre and the other way too, some places are cheaper in the country vic than closer into the city.

than getting the job out the door. To say I was ropable when I noticed scotch loks on my tow-

Not good mate. There are lots of good ARB stores around but they are very rare. One of the reasons I went with TJM for my gear.
Hope it doesn't effect your hippocket
Nah definitely not and the owner was good about it, he had no idea and is sorting it out for me. They are a good store, one of the blokes just had a brain fart I think.

Ffs knew something would go wrong...
For some reason arb thought that I was taking my diff centre to them so they only allowed 2 hours for the job, then did not tell me until I was there to pick the car up at 5 o'clock... Lucky I have another car to get around in or I would be seriously pissed off

Mine was in the shop all day but he does a tidy job of it

Got to drive the old girl again and send his young girl out in the world - graduation on Friday and she's done with school forever ....

Yeah I knew it would have to be done anyway, they just don't fit. It was criminal chopping up $25 switches though... lol

I will block the radiator when the temps drop a bit more. Even with the cold, I hit ~450C on my EGT coming up a hill under load. That's post-turbo, so I backed off really quick to avoid any damages.

To find out today that the zd30 i pulled out back in September to replace with a td42 has a crack in number 4 piston. While it was going great still, it was only time until the pin was going to drop.
Heres me thinking when the injector pump failed to spend 5k getting a new one. So it would have been 5k i might as well blow at the pokies.
