so this is my DX as i bought it
DTS turbo kit - non intercooled
3" exhaust
snorkel
2" ironman lift
duel batteries
31" duelers
im pretty novice when it comes to cars (especially diesels!!) so after reading a few threads about adding a turbo to the NA motor i was becoming paranoid about blowing the NA motor, so i decided first on the list was boost and pyro gauges. once installed i headed up princes hwy to see what she would do!! at 100ks up a steep hill its maxing out at 12psi and nearly hitting 500c on the pyro.
since then i have bought a set of 35" centipedes, so would expect EGTs be even higher now
with those temps and the now bigger wheels, im pretty sure i need to intercool the beast to give it a better life! just trying to find out how to go about it, any input is appreciated, cheers!!

Wind the boost up a little it may help. Try going to 14psi

Hey mate.
If you get a chance there is a thread for EGT logging. If you did a test on a hill that could be easily found by other members in the area post up your stats.
Cheers.

wont upping the boost increase the inlet temp therefore increase EGT? 12psi is as high as i wanted the boost (just going off other posts) for piece of mind

14 won't be to bad. More air in means a leaner mix which may slow the temp rise a little. If it doesn't help then you can always change it back.
An intercooler will help a lot. Front mounts work well and are simple.

ok i might give it a try, seems like its already pretty lean though.. doesn't give a single puff of black smoke

also the turbo barely spools unless ive got my foot pretty deep. On a flat road it will only hit about 6psi on gear changes then sit at 0 cruising at 60 in 4th.. My mates ZD30 is nearly always on boost!! Could this be the way it was tuned? It was used to pull a caravan, a mate suggested they bring on boost later if its a tow car so that your not flying through the gears real quick

What sorta exhaust has it got.
3", but straight threw or mufflers?
And what rpm is the turbo coming in at?
